Celebrate World Water Day with Niagara Region

World Water Day is a day observed annually on March 22 by the United Nations. To celebrate World Water Day, Niagara Region is offering a free guided tour of its Grimsby Water Treatment Plant.

Niagara Region protects public health and the environment by providing award-winning drinking water for the communities we serve. Niagara Region operates six water treatment facilities that produce 155 million litres of safe and reliable drinking water each day. On this tour, a water treatment operator will walk participants through the plant to explore the various phases of water treatment at the Grimsby Water Treatment Plant from Lake Ontario to the tap.
